Summary

In Metal Gear Solid for the Gameboy Colour you become Solid Snake, a retired member of the elite covert operation team Foxhound. A week ago, a C-5 galaxy transport plane on a classified mission to South America vanished. The problem is what it was carrying, Metal Gear. A nuclear capable bipedal armoured vehicle designed to realise the possibility of nuclear strikes from anywhere on the planet surface.

A terrorist organisation known as GLF are hoping to win independence for their country by threatening to destroy the world.
Your mission is to rendezvous with a Delta Force squad and take out the stolen Metal Gear. The clock is ticking. A nuclear holocaust looks imminent, once again, Snake heads into battle . . . alone.

Tactical espionage action, now that sounds like fun. Metal gear has a virtual training mode that eases you into the game gently. It presents you with different objectives that teach you stealth techniques. Having to use a more cunning approach gives Metal gear a certain charm. It’s not a case of shooting everything in sight, doing so will alert the guards and that’s not good. You have to use the radar to judge the positions of the enemy and react accordingly.

Sometimes you need to tap the wall to get the sentries to investigate while you make a sneaky dash for it. Other times your mission will involve swimming through a moat knowing you can’t come up for air. How well you can remain invisible determines your chance for success.

Metal gear Solid translates very well considering the change from 3-d to 2-d, Metal gear has some great gameplay ideas and graphics.
