Summary

We’re looking for a few good tank commanders. We need individuals with courage, skill and determination. It is not likely that you make it back alive from these missions, but your country is depending on you. Introducing Battle Tanx on the Nintendo 64.

The gameplay of Battle Tanx depends on which game mode you choose. There are an astonishing eight varieties of game for you to play here. The game modes include Hold ‘em, where you must capture the queen in the middle of the battlefield and return her to your base to score a point. This sounds easy apart from all of the other tanks with incredibly destructive weapons that have exactly the same idea. Tank Wars, Frenzy, and Deathmatch are all variations of pure tank battle where the winner is the tank with the most kills. Convoy involves you protecting a fleet of tanks in transit and Battlelord is essentially capture the flag. Campaign is more story orientated for the single-player experience.

You have a selection of several tanks with different weapons and selectable control methods. Although the visuals could be better, Battle Tanx plays solid with many game modes for single or multi-player combat.
