Summary

Developed by Rare, Donkey Kong 64 is the long awaited 3D update to a series of classic titles going back nearly twenty years.
As a second party developer for Nintendo, Rare have an almost flawless reputation in the video games industry. DK64 is no exception. Released just in time for Christmas 1999, this game sold Nintendo 64's by the thousand.

DK64 is one of the first titles to use Nintendo's 4mb Ram Expansion Pak as a requirement due to the size of the game and the level of detail it carries. However this considerably improves the look of the game.

DK64 is a huge game with ten vast 3D environments to roam in with a choice of five unique characters. Each character has its own attributes. For example, Tiny Kong uses her hair as a helicopter to jump accross cliffs. Chunky Kong uses his brute strength to lift huge boulders. It's these attributes that gives each game world so much variety.

The idea of DK64 is to defeat your arch enemy, King. K. Rool, and win back that lovely hoard of bananas he stole. K. Rool deploys bad guys for you to defeat at your leisure in order to progress. The fight with K. Rool himself is perhaps the most original and memorable experience in DK64. Taking place in a boxing ring, you must use all your wits to finish him and win back your bananas.

DK64 is a classic game playable for anyone, no matter what your skill level or age group.
