Summary

The renowned hero Hercules is making his way onto the Game Boy Color in The Legendary Journeys. In this game you have the chance to become the powerful Hercules himself and save the Kingdom of the Gods. The quest will be highly dangerous, but with you in control, you might just stand a chance.

The Game Boy version follows the same storyline as the Nintendo 64 incarnation. The mighty Zeus, ruler of Olympus and King of the Gods has fallen ill after drinking a mysterious potion. Ares, the God of War seizes this opportunity to move against Zeus and unleashes the titan Mnemosyne. The fate of the Gods rests with Hercules, as he must stop Ares and his deadly plan.

The gameplay is divided between side-scrolling platform action and a top-down free scrolling role playing section. You are gradually presented with missions and quests that you must complete. Each Quest will bring you more gaming experience and will increase your skills and weapons.

In Hercules, you can control additional characters such as Lolaus. While Hercules can use his mighty strength to move boulders, Lolaus must tackle problems in a more thoughtful, logical way, using her dexterity to reach tricky locations for example.

There are more than ten unique environments to challenge Hercules and, as a special bonus, you can link up this game to Titus’ Xena: Warrior Princess. Hercules can travel into her game and experience new adventures and new quests. If you don’t have a link cable yet, it’s time to go get one.

Overall, Hercules is an accomplished action adventure title that features hours of engaging gameplay.
