Full name: Alternative Software Ltd
Established: 1985

Established in 1985, through the years Alternative Software has been one of the major players in the UK computer industry, with over 200 titles to its name. Producing classic titles on many early platforms, games like Skool Daze, Trapdoor and BMX Ninja were household names through the mid to late 80's, including 20 consecutive weeks at numbner one in the budget games chart. As it moved into the 1990's, it became apparent that the direction to move in was one of titles with longevity, rather than the short shelf life of most video games. One of the most successful titles was Tracksuit Manager, which created the formula often imitated by current football management games.

In the late 90's Alternative Software launched the Premier Sports range, which, in a small space of time, grew to be the number one name in official football club software and computer peripherals. The portfolio coverer nearly the whole Premiership, including Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. Products include screensavers, mouse mats, PC personalisers, PSOne customising kits, and Interactive software.

New licenses, such as Lord of the Rings and The Hulk, have since been added to Alternative Software's collection.
