Whether it's rally racing or rockin' rhythms, United Game Artists (formerly AM9) has you covered. From their roots as one of Sega's premier racing game houses with hits like Sega Rally Championship, to their new focus on groovy music titles like Space Channel 5, UGA proves that when it comes to games with style, nobody does it better.
AM9 became United Game Artists on April 27, 2000, and is headquartered in Tokyo's trendy Shibuya district. The 55-person staff is led by president and chief creative officer Tetsuya Mizuguchi. Born in Sapporo and educated at Nihon University's Faculty of Arts, Mizuguchi joined Sega in 1990. His first work was Megalopolice, a Japanese motion ride with computer graphics. He then turned his attention to racing simulations, and in 1995 created an arcade masterpiece called Sega Rally Championship.
United Game Artists's first work that SPOnG is aware of is the 2000 title, "Space Channel 5" (Dreamcast).
The company has been involved titles released on the PS2 and Dreamcast. Of these, "Rez" (Dreamcast) has been a best selling title.
The company's most recent involvement was on the 2002 release "Space Channel 5 part 2" (Dreamcast).
