In December 1998, Square established a European headquarters, located in London, England. Square Europe has been granted exclusive publishing rights in Europe and other PAL territories for all interactive titles developed by Square Co., Ltd. The London office is responsible for the sales, marketing and quality assurance of all PAL Square titles. October 1999 saw the first Square Europe release, Final Fantasy VIII, which has already sold over one million copies in PAL territories. This was followed by Chocobo Racing, released in November 1999. The new millennium has since seen the release of Ehrgeiz, , Saga Frontier 2, Vagrant Story, Front Mission 3 and Parasite Eve 2.
Square Europe's first work that SPOnG is aware of is the 2013 title, "Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn" (PC).
The company has been involved titles released on the PS4, PC, PSVita and PS3. Of these, "Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn" (PC), "Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood" (PC), "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX" (PS3) and "Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn" (PS3) have been best selling titles.
The company's most recent involvement was on the 2017 release "Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood" (PS4).
