GTA IV Freezing on PlayStation 3?

I am also having problems with GTA IV freezing up for my PS3. I have the 60gig model and sometimes it will freeze right away other times it will freeze after about 10 mins or so. What is Rock Star doing to help the issue. I've waited for this game FOREVER, and now I can't even play it. This sucks! I've re-installed 3 times already and am still having the same problems. Let me know, thanks!

I have the Xbox 360 Collectors Edition but have yet to play it, it looks like some folk have issues but when it comes down to talking about certain issues I find the PS3 bunch tend to lash out at the 360 with the 1 only thing they can keep harping on about RROD...Forgetting that all machines are Falcon editions and most likely refurbs are fitted with Falcon's as well.

Its always a probability that games are released with some bugs and glitches and a game of this scale its no exception, imagine if EA took over, you would have seen this game out last year and would have been plagued with issues and poor visuals etc...Hopefully Rockstar will issue a patch that will resolve certain issues.

Same a first comment 40gb PS3 Standard GTA4 no problems whatsoever... 4hours playtime (definatly so far...)

- are you kidding? biggest game ever (supposedly) and its freezing up all the time on some machines... people have reinstalled 3 times in some cases. thats just not on, esp for the biggest game ever released (supposedly). When you shell out £45 for a game, it should run correctly, no? am i wrong? esp one thats as anticipated as this.

i wonder if all these glitches will plague the experience for some people.. it would me, but then im like that.

i recall playing the best game ever made (Mario galaxy) and not having any problems at all, ahhh it was wonderful....

Played GTA IV for over an hour and it froze completely :-(
Have a standard PS3 60GB

I have a launch 60 gb machine. I can't play it for over ten minutes and it freezes everytime. I have done the uninstall reinstall fix numerous times with no luck.

I have a 60gb launch ps3 and the collectors edition of GTA4. Arrived yesterday at 11.00hrs and i didn't stop playing or turned my console off for the next 12hours. amazing game sorry to all you that have suffered.
