@Gilbot If the dodge is on the right stick it means you have to use your right thumb which in turn means you have to movie it away from the face buttons. That moving from and to every time you have to dodge is problematic in the heat of battle.

Jaffes right... god of war is a piece of derivative s**te.

It has the most dated gameplay mechanics, contrived highly linear level structure and mind numbingly boring intensely juvenile dialog. I won't mention the on-rails camera... we all know it's s**te.

The ONLY thing it has going for it is superb graphical content.... FULL STOP. I've played GOW2&GOW3 and I simply cannot finish them. After 1-2 hours of play the illusion has gone... there is no substance their... the game is designed for simpletons... here's the formula in 4 easy steps...

1 - Lavish highly competent cutscene with dreadful dialog
2 - kratos kills some plebs, with the same repetitive combo of moves in a small section of level with a glowing barrier around it
3 - contrived glowing barrier drops... kratos learns new combo, moves to the next sectioned off part of the level with enemies that can only be killed with this new combo<repeat steps 2 and 3 for about 10 minutes>
{After 10 minutes, the game designers obviously think... ' S**t our cover will get blown if we carry on like this for much longer... Boss time!}
4 - Boss sequence with QUICKTIME events... what a stroke of genius... pure designing gold... the quicktime event, when designers just haven't got a clue what to do next... absolutely retarted. Anyways... Kratos kills boss... <repeat steps 1 and 2 and 3 for about 10 minutes then move onto 4 when you think people might twig the formula and just repeat for the next 10 hours with the odd sprinkling of 'puzzles'>

Now listen... I love the art style, it's the only thing that keeps you going on GOW(the change of setting and the cutscenes). The art team and animation team are superb... but the design.... it's the lamest piece of s**te for a AAA game this gen. The gameplay mechanics were barely good enough for last-gen... but this gen... to try and push that as a AAA game... it's just taking the piss.

The whole GOW series needs to quietly take a leave of absence, Kratos is old and he's tired... just put a nice cardigan on him, some comfy slippers.. and book him a place in a retirement home. Just stop making them... it's become embarrassing.

@Tim_Smith He did read your article, which is why he is complaining that your headline is misleading. You should not expect people to read the headline within the context of the article. The headline is read before any other part of the article, so it is impossible to take it in context the first time you read it. Headlines are not simply supposed to be catchy. They should also inform the reader about the content of the article. The other people complaining are simply pointing out that they are sick of so called "journalists" using sensationalist headlines to grab people's attention and get more clicks on the site. It's not much different than mainstream news, it's just a reflection on the sad state of (most) journalism today.
