DS Stomps On US Hardware Competition

sony thisis b..... s......! its not a problem of storege because i work on best buy in usa virginia store 1163 and we never sold out of ps3 the real reson is no body want the over price ps3 the 360 have just a little lees graphic power for lees price and a lot of beater game and the wii its the most fun video console of all time

Stock problems Sony, yea to right, what you mean is you cant shift the stock to retailers as no one wants any. Do they seriously expect us to believe they are having problems in America when all shops are overflowing with stock, they must think we are more daft than them.

Now I know there are compatibility issues to consider, but really, no one actually plays games with em anyway, so no worries. There are more Blu-rays in the US anyway ;-D

LUPOS is right. I've had to travel to Philadelphia and Washington DC last week and there were PS3's aplenty. Does Sony think the general masses are idiots?! Seriously... paying $600+ to play a console FPS is retarded.

A question: Why does every thread get hijacked into the same formulaic diatribe with terrible spelling at how bad the PS3 is, how arrogant Sony is blah, blah, why they stink. Why not concentrate on the success of the DS being as that was what the story was about or how well God of War II has sold?

Oh. I didn't realise that Motor Storm, Genji, Virtua Tennis, Ridge Racer, Blazing Angels, THP8, F1 06 and Sonic were all FPSs.

And his rather blunted and shallow point still stands, relatively well. Motorstorm is the only thing on that list I can't play for significantly less on the 360.

I'll have a PS3 before years end, but right now it just doesn't make sense to anyone but the the die hard Sony faithful. Thankfully for Sony theres enough of them to still move a few hundred thousand consoles a month.

No not the half million DS sales, the PS2 figures.

For all the SONY bashing going on here take a look at those numbers.
This is a 6 year old console outselling the entire lot of next gen consoles. It does beg the question, who is buying it?

I still precieve the Xbox as having only hardcore FPS and PC games, but don't have these perceptions with the PS3.

Parents, for there 5-12 year olds. My girl friends little cousin JUST got a gamecube for christmas. There are a ton of cheap games already out and plenty of new kid friendly titles continue to come. Old hardware always tends to fill in for the younger demographic.





I perceive my dick to be 12" long, doesn't mean when it comes time to put it into practice I'll get the same results.

The always touted viva pinata. crackdown. PGR. FORZA. GEARS (not really an fps at all nor does it play like one). Dead rising. Mass effect. table tennis. amped. DOA4... not to mention all the multi platform releases.

PS3:
Resistance. Motorstorm. and VF5 for now.

Maybe you would like to compare DLC? cause they would be even sadder. Live arcade has a lot of crap but id still probably rather play rootbeer tapper for extended periods of time the flow. Geometry wars isn't even fair.

Sure the PS3 will be better off a year form now, but so will the 360. Much as i thought it was silly to rush out ahead of Sony, the strategy of being first seems to really be paying off for them.

Perception is important - most of the time, when I buy a game, I won't have already played it. If you can persuade someone your dick is 12" long, it doesn't matter if it's not. On the other hand, if people think it's 1", even if it's not, it won't be very good.

I've got a PS2 and an XBox1, and the PS2 has a wider range of games; more better games, so (if I didn't know better) I would naturally assume the PS3 will end up in the same situation (although it's definitely not right now).

Why would that be what you "naturally" assume? Is a PS3 a ps2? is an Xbox1 and Xbox360? Do they have similar designs even? What about similar launch conditions? Is Nintendo in a similar position as last time? There is nothing to lead you to "naturally" assume that except the letters "P" and "S". Unless you "naturally" don't think about things to deeply ;)

Well, you don't think about it too much. My perception is that it's a Playstation 3 and I base my assumptions and perceptions about it on the previous outings 1 and 2.

Genji blew balls, Motor Storm was alright, Virtua Tennis was alright (and was on 360), Ridge Racer on 360, Blazing Angels sucked IMO ( and was on 360), THP8 is on 360, F1 06 is not worth 600 bucks (nor is anything else listed before), and tell me the last time they made an awesome 3D Sonic game (the last Sonic game was on 360 too if memory serves me right).

Let's break it down. The only real good game on the PS3 is Resistance (PC FPS are ftw in the end), Motor Storm was not bad, Genji sucked badly, and personally, I can care less about a racing game. The rest are on a 360.

So I'll go spend $700+ dollars on the system and two games that aren't a BFG killer app wise.... Oh and since I'm such a rich kid buying a PS3, I'll go spend a couple of thousand dollars on getting a 50 inch+ 1080p HDTV to get the true quality of the system.

Now for the competition.
360: Gears of War, Crackdown, DOA4, soon to come: Too Human, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Halo 3 (I hate halo, but I had more fun with halo 2 than I did with Resistance), Fable 2. I'm pretty sure I'm missing a crap load more. These are all exclusive titles to 360, correct me if I'm wrong.
Wii: LOZ:TP, Paper Mario, Wario Ware (nice party game), Trauma Center. Soon to come: Super Smash Bros. Brawl (I don't even have to type any more games, but I will), Metroid Prime 3:Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Strikers, Batallion Wars, Crystal Chronicles, No More Heroes, Type-S (not soon to come I guess =P). I'm also sure I'm missing more games.

Exclusive titles sell a console, I don't care if a system can give me a handjob and shoot lasers, it needs awesome exclusive games. PS3 is going to have LittleBigPlanet, Lair, MGS which may not even stay exclusive from some rumors I'm hearing, and FFXIII. I hear Devil May Cry is going to 360 as well. GG Sony.

PS2 is outselling Wii because people still can't find one in stores. That's the only reason. But still, it's impressive to see the PS2 pummel the PS3 like it does. It's an interesting console to buy, lots of games, cheap price. Just like PSone continued to sell after PS2 was out for 2 years.

The list of games Config mentioned is funny. Him being a mod on a videogames news website, I would expect a better argument and more knowledge of the games he listed. Blazing Angels being a reason to buy a PS3? If anything, that's actually an argument NOT to buy a PS3.
