This 'holiday season' has got me considering a PS3 but I don't think I'd get rid of my Xbox after - the resale price doesn't make it worth anyway.

I live in the US and I have both a PS3 & 360. No way am I shifting to the PS3. The only time I buy a PS3 game is when its exclusive to the system. Gamers here know that the the 360 is the one you want for doing anything online. This analyst does not know what he is talking about. Check out the US version of Amazon, the 360 is version of MW2 has sold more than the PS3.

There is still no reason for me to buy a PS3. I have a large 1080p TV and although I am tempted to go BluRay I still don't see the attraction of the PS3. The exclusive games are not that great (IMO) and my XBOX is still providing many quailty hours of entertainment. Assassins Creed was a bit too bland and repetative for me and I don't hold out much hope for the sequel. MW2? Well I would get it on XBOX. XBOX Live is still the greatest multi user experience. Wait for Natal. That will shake things up a bit.

I have owned both since day one and just bought my 3rd PS3, not out of my love for Sony either. My original 60GB has been plagued with problems since day one and my 80 just recently stopped working, so instead of giving Sony $150 to fix it I bought a new slim. I buy a majority of my multi-platform games on the 360 because I prefer the controller and whichever version gets the nod review wise makes my final decision. There is NO defecting. I think that is like most people too with both consoles. The only games that look better on the PS3 are the exclusives in my opinion. I really can't do without the exclusives on either console.

@james "The only games that look better on the PS3 are the exclusives in my opinion"

Of course, because the majority of multiplatform games are built on 360 and then ported to PS3 - so it's always going to look pretty much the same. Whether its done this way because the 360 is market leader or because it's the least capable is open to discussion...

PS3 is far superior to 360.. to the extend that it is really a generation ahead... Be it soon or later.. it will overtake 360 completely... just a matter of time.

Everyone knows the xbox has the advantage on multiplatform games, If they're shfting it'll be due to first party exclusives. Anyone who bought Ass Creed probably woulnd't buy the sequel anyway as it was s**te.

I forgot to mention this earlier but one of the main reasons I choose the 360 version over the PS3 are the achievements. I have never really talked to anyone that cared that much about the trophies offered on the PS3. Don't underestimate the power of getting achievements. Hell Blizzard liked them so much they added them into WoW.

Personally I much prefer the trophies system as the different gradings of trophy give another (and IMO better) way of seeing essentially the same information. Platinum ect trophies work better than just giving more points for harder achievements because someone with a high gamerscore could have got there by collecting points from several games or working hard at just a few. The original concept from microsoft deserves respect but I'd definately say that trophies are an improvement and evolution of the achievement system. Getting a bit off topic there but just my two cents on that aspect and perhaps could even be linked with why some people may want to switch to ps3.

My third warranty replacement 360 (for a total of 4) is starting to freeze up. Since it's out of warranty now, I'll soon be looking for a new console. One that lasts more than a few months. It's pathetic, I rarely even play the damn thing.

So count me as another defector, to which console, I don't know yet.

I have both systems, but have started buying more games for the PS3 and being on it more. I even went as far as to not re-up my live account for a few months this summer because I was content with my Playstation Networ experience. The only reason I finally re-upped it is beacuse I got a Wal-Mart gift card as a gift. Another reason I have been leaning more on the PS3 as of late is because more of my friends have been doing the same.

@AmazingRuss How can your latest replacement be out of warranty (3 year warranty for RROD etc) I think you are possibly lying. I have 2 360's one 3 years old, one 1 year old never had a problem with either.

@spectrum48k Once you send in your Xbox 360 for RROD, you only get ONE year warranty when it gets sent back to you. Regardless of how many years you had left before you sent it in. So AmazingRuss' replacement console must be nearing 12 months old now.

My brother went through the same tiring conversation with Xbox 'Customer Support'.

I really do love the stupid comments from ANALists...The Xbox 360 dash is enough to show that the PS3 is dull and boring. The marketplace also on the 360 is enough to show that the PS3 is clearly not ready and Xbox Live is also enough to show the PSN what online gaming is truely all about - its about connectivity.
