I don't see the point in a versus game u cant play with other people?

Well you can play against people sitting in the same room as you and it's always better to play against mates that you can see, rather than anonymous "robots" but I take your point that online would of been nice. I don't see how that ruins the game though, and makes the graphics below par.

I was genuinely shocked @ the PS3's lack of any real bang!, but days are early & time will tell.

Thats your prerogative if you where truly shocked by the PS3, but I totally disagree, the PS3 has more than lived up to my expectations, (I've played on Wii and 360 so I'm not judging it blind) The machine itself looks quality, is virtually silent, and the lauch titles I've purchased (MotorStorm & Resistance) have been great. Wireless online has worked flawlessly with the GTHD and numerous demos that you can try, not forgetting MotorStorm online.
A question for you; what was your initial impression of the 360 when it launched if you are so utterly unimpressed with PS3, because from a graphical standpoint the launches don't compare, the PS3 is way above the 360 launch titles.

Well going from the PS2 to the 360 I was wowed!, (graphically mostly) but I thought PGR3 & COD2 saved the launch, but the biggest thing was id never had any online gaming experience so I found Live a gaming revelation, after playing games for years with mates when they were round or just going through single player games to suddenly having a whole global online community was awesome that blew me away, & still does, I don't bother to play my 360 unless im online, even if im not play an online game, it's being able to see what friends are up to & getting invites to games that are going on, anyway, back to my comment about the PS3 not having any real bang, I just thought the 360 had been out a year already plus the 6 month delay for us guys in the UK, I thought Sony would by then have something that was really special, but it just wasn't there. I'm not condemning the PS3 all together it has some good points as u say it is very quiet,
I just think after the success of the PS2 Sony could of owned the gaming world, if only they'd concentrated on making the games console we as gamers wanted, not what they thought could help them Trojan horse blu-ray into every household...... it was simple & in my eyes they got it wrong.

LOL High praise indeed! I love that comment, you made me genuinely laugh.

But we don't need one company to own the gaming world that would lead to lack of competition and innovation. We need 2 or 3 companies pushing each other to out do one another.

In summary, the PS3 has launched very successfully despite all the negative B****hit, and you know what it's pretty decent and I think alot of people are not happy about that. This negativity towards it has been totally ridiculous, conversely the over the top positivity towards the Wii has also been equally ridiculous.

Your right we dont want 1 company running the games world & i dont lose any sleep over how many zillions sony have been losing or making, it's just sad that the Playstation brand has become a bit of a dirty word & people genuinely feel betrayed. but in 3 years time that will all probably be a distant memory & the PS3 will be riding high but there is no doubt now that MS are a huge competitor & the 360 is a very popular machine, that (in my opinon, right now) is top of the poduim. Yer & i agree with your Wii comment, i dont really see what all the fuss is there, its a fun, few mates round, few bevs party games, but i could never imagine playing that console day in day out, but again, early days...

Damn it! Will you stop making me bite. It's only become a dirty word in the minds of crazy irrational fanboys, (not accusing you BTW) who probably make up less than 5% off the gaming population.

Why do people feel betrayed? What have they been betrayed by? If they do then that's absurd, people need a reality check.

Oh christ man give it a year...I'm not one to judge too early on a console but there is absolutely no way that I'm going to make my mind up on the PS3 as being a total failure by any means. I feel many (on alot of other forums) are being too irrational on this whole 360 vs. PS3 (there ya go Capcom another franchise for ya! GO AT EM') stance. 360 has had a longer life cycle already, enough with the hastey conclusions and no, I'm not a fanboy, I just happen to be very much interested in Sony's console and judging by their exlusive games in development, I see a very worthy investment.

Having said that, there are alot of reasons why people are jumping to such conclusions, but all the issues and mistakes (on Sony's part) aside. I say, once again, let the PS3 gain some ground first. Let the developers understand the unique architecture and become familiar with the "foreign code language". Let it grow and mature in time so that in a year, we'll see if it lives up to it's claims as being an amazing experience unlike anything else on the market.........time.

thanks, nice forum ya got here ; )

I DID say "early days" there! look, see?..... I just think Sony are in a bit of a tight spot, a tight spot which they had no reason in the world to be in, & it seems a place they've put themselves in!.

Dammit, I did not intend to quote you or anyone, it was a post directly aimed at the subject at hand. It's because I'm not a member and not realising that when you click reply it automatically quotes the member above. My apologies.
