Summary
Sengoku is a heavy strategy game from Paradox Interactive that throws players into civil war of medieval-era Japan. As the head of a Samurai family you must lead them to power while others strive for victory all around you. By balancing the need for honour with the power of your blade, careful strategy will hopefully see you rise through the ranks and assume control of the feudal states.
With a range of carefully realised warriors at your disposal you may choose to engage the enemy in a full on battle on the field or take the sneakier route by dispatching your Ninja to assassinate their leaders. The ultimate goal is to become Shogun, the great leader to whom all will look to for guidance, so a careful combination of force and diplomacy is needed.
Paradox has researched deep into Japanese history to ensure that the details in Sengoku are perfect. There are provinces to conquer, clans to assimilate or destroy and a huge range of playable characters at your disposal. Sengoku is a game where your decisions have far reaching consequences but you must be careful to never allow your enemies to second guess your actions. Mixing it up will keep them on their toes so a varied approach is very much encouraged.
