Summary

Following the successful F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, F.E.A.R. 3 (or F.3.A.R) sees the return of Alma, the creepy girl from the first game, with some pretty potent paranormal powers.

However, the third game in the horror series also sees her sons, Point Man and Paxton Fettel, coming into the fray in what is being called a divergent co-op experience. In this mode, players get distinct and unique abilities depending on the character of choice. This not only affects the way the gamer plays but also how they interact with others in the co-operative game-play world.

It’s not all co-op, however, as the single-player campaign is also set-up for horrific action. In this, the player takes the role of “Point Man”. He’s more than the offspring of Alma however, he’s a genetically enhanced super soldier, as you may recall from the original game.

In co-op mode – with the AI if you don't have a buddy to hand – cooperative play sees Paxton and his telekinetic powers (despite his previous death!) joining the gamer.

Adding to the atmosphere or intrigue, terror and... well, fear, is the fact that legendary horror director John Carpenter joins horror comic and script writer Steve Niles in the script and general direction of the game’s story and cinematics.
