Do you still need Game Shops?

Game stores have their place, but it's not a place to buy new games given how much more expensive they are than other alternatives online. Used games is a great way to scan the available library and pick out what you like at a discounted price... but even then these prices are comparatively high compared to online auction sites. I always love me a physical copy of a game, but rarely for the prices game stores charge. A lot needs to change for game stores to really pique my interest again.
