Summary
Pokemon Crystal is a real blast from the past, following on the trend of bringing vintage Pokemon games to the 3DS handheld via a code in a box. The game's an enhanced version of Pokemon Gold and Silver a dash of different Pokedex data and new puzzles. It also offered the chance to play as a female trainer for the first time.
The main story follows the lines of the previous Pokemon titles fairly closely in as much as you have to travel around battling and catching wild Pokemon. Once you catch a Pokemon you can train it up for battle against other trainers and work your way up the Johto league.
As with previous games in the series, Crystal is a game of rewarding patience. You travel the game world collecting and training and after some time you should have an array of pretty tough little pocket monsters. You can then link up with another player to see who has the strongest deck and the best tactics.
