Summary

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy started life as an expansion, but developer Naughty Dog just couldn't stop it from growing into something more.

Spinning out of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, The Lost Legacy ditches series mainstay Nathan Drake in favour of an adventure starring Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross, last seen in the aforementioned fourth outing of the series. A ruthless war profiteer is after a fabled ancient Indian artefact and it falls to our heroes to plunge into the wilds of Asia to recover it.

The action is a mix of combat and exploration. In keeping with Uncharted 4, the levels are a bit more open than the early, linear Uncharted games, allowing the player a bit more liberty to find their own path and strategy in the name of taking out the bad guys. Stealth is often the order of the day, with both Chloe and non-player character Nadine able to tag enemies for you to track and take out.

Mixed in are driving sections, environmental puzzles and arguably the main draw of the Uncharted series, climbing.

At the heart of the game, though, is the relationship between Chloe and Nadine. Perhaps taking a leaf from Naughty Dog's other famous series, The Last of Us, the relationship between the pair is front and centre, and it's often in the moments of idle banter that the game really shines.
