Summary

A mysterious, twisted metal structure looms massively up out of the undergrowth. To your eyes it's the warped remains of a metal skyscraper. To the fur-cloaked tribal character you're playing, however, it's a relic of an unimaginable time. You don't have time to stop and wonder at it, however. Strange, animal-like metal creatures are afoot...

This is the world of Horizon: Zero Dawn. Civilisation has long-since fallen and mankind ekes out an existence in a world given back to nature and terrifying machines. But when you, playing as Aloy, discover a networked augmented reality device among the forbidden ruins you begin a quest that will unravel the lost story of mankind's fall, and just where these strange creatures came from.

Billed as an action RPG, Horizon: Zero Dawn plays out a little like a Far Cry game. You'll hunt with your bow and spear, leveling up your abilities and scavenging for items you can craft with. You'll move among different human factions, switching between stealth and open combat when either other humans of the world's fearsome robots need dispatching. Or, you might prefer to override them with your AR device to avoid a confrontation at all, or perhaps to fire disruption arrows that will have them or attack each other. Whatever the situation, there's likely to be more than one way to approach it.

Horizon: Zero Dawn presents players with a majestic new world to explore and conquer.
