Serious Sam HD: First & Second Encounter brings us back to the years 2001 and 2002 in terms of first-person shooter comedy but brings with it a brand spanking new look that’s just right for modern times. As well as recreating the open explorative nature of both Serious Sam 1 and 2, this HD package also comes with some new co-op game modes and more lush environments.

Serious Sam originally reared his head in 2001 as a nu-age Duke Nukem - a novel, slightly comical chap that had a massive gun and the power to suppress an alien race with advanced technology. Sounds ridiculous, right? That’s why you need someone so… serious to deal with the mess. In typical FPS fashion, you begin the early stages of the game with only a weak pistol in a seemingly sparse environment. Soon after, you will be confronted by hordes of monsters that range from Reeban Electrofish to Sirian Werebulls. Weird!

Serious Sam 2 picks up where the First Encounter left off, leaving the titular hero in the South American Mountains and into the clutches of Mental’s experienced destructive fighters. Three new weapons bring the total to fourteen, and consist of a flamethrower, a sniper rifle with 8X zoom, and the close range, but damaging chainsaw
