Summary

Ice and Blood is an add-on for Ascaron's well-received Role Playing Game, Sacred 2: Fallen Angel. The game was available on 360 and PS3, but initially at least, only the PC version is getting gIce & Blood.

This expansion promises to bring Sacred fans many more hours of gaming excitement, as it introduces new characters, features and locations to the original game.

Fans of the series will already know that he action takes place in Ancaria, in an extensive dynamic loading game environment, so players do not have to wait while new sections of the environment load. There are also dungeons and buildings that introduce additional subterranean and upstairs levels. The environment varies from desert to rain forest, and each region features its own climate, terrain, architecture, inhabitants, plants and animals.

Because the game world is so large, players often choose a mount for transportation and to assist them in combat. Each character class has its own special mount, and these take the form of Sabre Toothed Tigers, Serpents and even a giant spider. Mounts take the place of an equipment slot, and add to the characters stats.

Players choose to play as one of six classes of character. There is Seraphim (which appeared in the first game) who embodies all that is good, and can only play the Light path, Shadow Warrior, High Elf, Dryad, Temple Guardian or Inquisitor, who embodies evil, and can only play the Shadow path. The expansion introduces the Dragon mage, an additional main character, as well as a series of new quests and shorelines. The add-on contains two new unique locations and a selection of previously unseen enemies, who will challenge action RPG gamers with unique tactics of their own.

Sacred features an innovative multiplayer mode that enables them to leave their single player game and join a friend's game in multiplayer at any time. They can later return to their single player campaign at the point they left, while retaining any levels and items that they earned in the multiplayer game.

"Ice & Blood" requires an installation of the original game.
